Bone Flow





   The HIDA scan is useful for several investigations. It can be used to evaluate suspected acute cholecystitis, post-operative bile leaks, biliary patency, jaundice, and jaundice pain in post biliary surgery patients.

   The patient must no eat for six hours prior to the scan. The scan itself takes approximately two hours. After the patient receives an injection, images will be taken every five minutes until completed.
