Liver/Spleen Imaging

The liver/spleen imaging study is very useful for determining the size, shape, and position of the liver and spleen. It is also useful for detection and evaluation of cirrhosis, fatty infiltration, hepatitis, primary and metastatic malignancies, abscess, cysts, and suspected trauma. The scan takes approximately 30 minutes from the time when the isotope is injected until the imaging has been completed.
