MUGA Heart Scan





MUGA heart scans are used to evaluate cardiac ejection fraction, regional wall motion, the effects of pharmaceutical therapy, and the effects of chemotherapy. The test's duration is approximately one hour. The patient will first receive an injection in the arm and after 20-30 minutes the patient will be imaged. The imaging time is approximately 30 minutes.
